Allen (Big Al) cut his saltwater teeth growing up on the east coast of New Hampshire chasing Striped bass, Flounder, Cod and 

Blue fish.  After earning an Engineering degree Allen resided in Colorado perusing Trout, Walleye and Salmon across the western states.  He continued his passion of saltwater fishing visiting destinations such as Alaska, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Canada and many coastal areas of the US.  Moved to Corpus Christi Texas in 2021 and began angling for Red Snapper, Mahi, Tuna, Cobia, Amber Jack, King Mackerel, Sailfish, Marlin, Red fish, Drum, Speckled Trout and many other species.  Allen enjoys sharing his knowledge of saltwater fishing and encourages guests to fully participate in the angling process.  Allen is also an accomplished Fly Fisherman and has caught many salt water species on fly.  There is always a fly rod aboard the Just Joan if an opportunity arises to cast flies to aggressive fish.
